The theme for 2004 is ‘SUSTAIN’, the word itself has three meanings, to nourish, to maintain or to experience. Sustainability is a major concern in the 21st century. Resource use, re-use and conservation, waste and efficiency are all vital issues to today’s inventors and innovators. As our society becomes more aware of the environmental, social and economic impact of consumerism, designers are paying close attention to the footprint of their creations.

Inventors from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions and from the wider inventor community will display prototypes in this exhibition.
