Melbourne Fringe is committed to protecting an individual’s right to privacy and to full compliance with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cwlth) as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Cwlth) (“Act”).

Melbourne Fringe seeks to treat its public and artists with all respect due to private individuals.
From time to time, in order to be of effective service to you, Melbourne Fringe may need to collect certain personal information from you.
Melbourne Fringe will only use this information for the purpose for which you provided it, or for any purpose to which you have consented. The Melbourne Fringe will not disclose or use your information for any other purpose other than the intended purpose.

How we ensure your Information is kept secure
- Melbourne Fringe will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information that we hold about you. Melbourne Fringe has security measures, proprietary secure algorithms, in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
- Our secure server software is industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name and address so that it cannot be read by third parties.

HOW WE MAY USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Ticket and merchandise purchasers:
- To contact you about your tickets or information about the show/s you have booked e.g. to let you know if a performance is cancelled
- For personal identification when you collect tickets or need lost tickets replaced
- To complete financial transactions e.g. with credit card companies. All internet credit card transactions are conducted over a secure, encrypted connection
- When you make a purchase through the Melbourne Fringe system your consent is required to provide your financial or contact information to those third parties necessary to process your transactions with us, such as credit card companies and the companies that handle shipping on our behalf.
- For Melbourne Fringe and/or associated companies or organisations to contact you about products and services that may be of interest, if you consent to this at time of providing you personal details. You may also change this choice in the future by contacting Melbourne Fringe’s Privacy Officer, although it may also be necessary to contact any other organisations which have obtained your information.
- To compile data on the preferences of attendees of Melbourne Fringe events to improve future services and programming
- We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website. Your IP address is used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information about you.
Registered Melbourne Fringe Artists:
- To contact you about bookings and other matters relevant to your Melbourne Fringe event
- To confirm the identity of users and to bill customers for products and services.
- To make financial transactions related to your Melbourne Fringe event, registration of the event or events and bookings
- To allow the public to contact you about your event, if you have consented to this. You may also change this choice in the future by contacting Melbourne Fringe’s Privacy Officer, although it may also be necessary to contact any other organisations or individuals who have obtained your information.
General:
- To provide you with further Melbourne Fringe information which may be of interest, if you have voluntarily provided your contact details for this purpose e.g. by registering on Melbourne Fringe email mailing list
- To contact you in response to your specific Melbourne Fringe inquiries

Changes to our Privacy Policy
Melbourne Fringe reserves the right to change its privacy policy at any time and to notify you by posting an updated version of the policy on our website. Your continued use of this Site indicates that you accept the policy in place at that time.
