Every year Melbourne Fringe presents a small number of Fringe Produced Events, which have been curated and conceived by the organisation, in collaboration with local artists, communities, companies and/or venues. High profile and highly public, Fringe Produced Events run for the duration of the Festival, and are easily accessible in venues such as Federation Square and Melbourne Museum. Fringe Produced Events are free for all to visit.

Now in its 23rd year, the fabulous Fringe Furniture will once again take over the Melbourne Museum in 2007. As an iconic event in the Melbourne design calendar, the reputation and scope of this innovative, open-access exhibition increases each year. This year's theme of Material/ism is sure to inspire an array of daring, innovative and unique new work, which has come to epitomise the exhibition. This year Fringe Furniture welcomes the addition of furnishings to the mix of furniture and lighting on show. Registration forms will be available here next week, with entries due by 3 August.

In addition to Fringe Furniture, in 2007 Melbourne Fringe will unleash two very exciting Fringe Produced Events - a large-scale installation in Federation Square and a thought-provoking temporary public art project in the City of Yarra - both not to be missed come September!

For the second year Melbourne Fringe will provide independent Festival artists the opportunity to take part in the Outside Eye program, which matches artists of all disciplines with industry professionals who can assist them in the dramaturgy, direction or curation their event.
