What is the Melbourne Fringe Festival?
The Melbourne Fringe Festival is an annual open access multi arts festival, which takes place over three weeks every spring in and around Melbourne.

When is the Melbourne Fringe Festival on?
In 2008, the Festival will occur from 24 September - 12 October.

I'm an Artist, how can I get involved?
In a nutshell, anyone can be in the Melbourne Fringe Festival - the Festival is an open access festival. To find out everything you need to do to be involved, including registering your event click here.

What are Fringe Produced Events?
Every year Melbourne Fringe presents a number of events, which have been curated and conceived by the organisation, in collaboration with local artists, companies and / or venues. These are called Fringe Produced Events. To view details of some of these events, check out the Fringe Produced Events section of this website.

What is the Independent Program?
The Independent Program refers to all events in the Festival, excluding the Fringe Produced Events. These events have been registered by individuals or groups who have paid a registration fee. It includes all shows on at the Festival Hub as well as shows and events happening across town in a variety of venues.

How can I take part in Fringe Furniture?
Fringe Furniture is a Fringe Produced Event, where creative, contemporary furniture and lighting designs from some of Australia's newest and hottest talents are showcased in an open-access exhibition. The call for Furniture Artists takes place in July each year.

How do we support International Artists?
Melbourne Fringe is able to assist international artists with finding an appropriate venue, writing letters of support and invitation, accommodation, obtaining visas and various legal procedures.
