Artist Development

Registering to participate in Melbourne Fringe gives you access to a range of Artist Development opportunities.  Even if you aren’t doing a Melbourne Fringe show this year, you can still utilise the resources and information on this site to help you in your creative practice.

2012 Forum Series

Our Forum Series for artists and producers kicks off on Tuesday 26 March and runs through to July, covering topics like production, venues, project management, marketing, publicity, and everything in between. Presented in partnership with Arts Centre Melbourne, forums are a great chance to hear from industry experts, meet the Melbourne Fringe staff and network with other artists.

Producer Mentorship Program

Melbourne Fringe and Arts Centre Melbourne have announced a new mentorship program to support the skills development of producers presenting work in the 2013 Melbourne Fringe Festival. The program will support four producers participating in the 2013 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Find out more on the Producer Mentorship Program page.

Outside Eye

Registered Melbourne Fringe Festival artists have the opportunity to apply for our mentoring program Outside Eye.  Take a look to see why other artists and mentors have found it so rewarding. You can apply for Outside Eye at the time of registration, closing on June 1.

Tour Ready

Aimed at equipping emerging producers with the skills to create a sustainable career in Australian arts practice, Tour Ready assists selected participants to extend the life of their show beyond the Melbourne Fringe Festival. You can apply for Tour Ready online during registrations, applications close on June 1.

Awards

The Melbourne Fringe Awards are a way for Melbourne’s arts community to celebrate and acknowledge the diversity, professionalism and exceptional quality of work in each year’s Festival. Many of our awards include professional development opportunities that will help you in the next stage of your practice or in remounting your Melbourne Fringe Festival show.

JUMP

Melbourne Fringe is the Victorian State Delivery Partner for JUMP, Australia Council’s National Mentoring Program for Young and Emerging Artists. Check out the 2012 artists and mentors here.
