Idle Hands is a new work devised by Avan Whaite that walks the line between circus and dance. Using these mediums as his pallet, Avan explores our attraction to the forbidden, and the consequences of curiosity. Integrating elements from the Pandora myth, a physical narrative is built, as the performers react to the unseen compulsions of their environment.
Avan Whaite has performed around the globe to much critical acclaim, his acts are known for their quality of movement and choreographic ingenuity. For Idle Hands he teams up with performance veteran, and ex cirque du soleil artist, Daniel Power. Together they create a physical vocabulary that mixes contemporary dance, with elements of breakdance and various circus acts.
