The Faders: physical theatre, contemporary dance, live music, singing, illusion, and puppetry. The Faders is about the fear of fading into obscurity, of disappearing, not being seen, and the extreme lengths some people will go to, to remain in the limelight. These days the desire to be famous is unprecedented. Being adored, validated and confirmed by others holds power, like a drug to some people. ‘We all need to make meaning out of our lives, and this is one way people attempt to do it’ - Tim Kasser. The Faders speaks to the fleeting nature of fame, how it can distort views of life and self, uncovering the emptiness and sadness of fame and the aftermath, of fading into the crowd...
