Display Requirements

Wherever possible we will try to display the work as intended. Please note that nothing can be hung from the ceiling at Melbourne Museum nor can any work be attached to any walls. A truss will be available for lights to be displayed. In addition, display cases and plinths may be available from the Museum.

Plinth Requirements

Ideally artists will provide their own plinth to display their work. See the Registration Info Kit for more information. However, a limited number of plinths are available from the museum. Please indicate whether you will require a museum plinth and the required dimensions.

Please be clear and concise and check your spelling. We also advise that you ask someone not familiar with your work to proof it and make sure your description is easily understood.

All work included in Fringe Furniture can be for sale and Melbourne Fringe does not take any commission on sold items. If you do not want your work for sale please put "N.F.S" (Not For Sale). You may also list the work as "P.O.A" (Price On Application) however, from experience we have found that this can put people off buying the work if they have to go through the process of contacting you.

Valuation

Even if your work is not for sale a valuation must be given to Melbourne Museum for insurance purposes. Please indicate the wholesale or replacement value of your work, not the retail value.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or money order and can be sent by post to Melbourne Fringe or delivered in person. Please do not post cash. Cheques to be made out to 'Melbourne Fringe.' Please make sure you complete the Registration Fee Payment Form included in the Registration Info Kit and return it to Melbourne Fringe along with your fee.
