Melbourne Fringe is singing the praises of public transport. No really, we are literally singing about it—check out The Bedroom Philosopher - Songs from the 86 Tram.

In 2009 we had more venues than ever and some amazing shows happening in regional and outer suburban areas. Best of all you can get to all of them cheaply and easily on public transport.

To help you find your way Metlink have made us a special, shiny Melbourne Fringe journey planner. Just enter where you’re travelling from, set your destination as a ‘landmark’ and then type in the venue of the show or event. You’ll get step-by-step instructions on getting from here to there.

And don’t forget that a 2 hour Metcard validated after 6pm is good until 3am and a 5 x Weekend Daily Metcard gives you five separate days of travel for just $3 per day.

So choose the green option and take a leisurely ride to Melbourne Fringe instead of fighting the traffic.
