Our awards are judged by an army of diligent trustworthy industry people who care about Fringe and care about the development of your work.  Even if you don’t win it is still an excellent thing to have your work seen and discussed by your peers and others who may be able to offer you opportunities in the future.   

In order to be considered for these specific awards you MUST respond to the following instructions:

Kultour Tour Development Award

This Award gets you:

  • A sexy Melbourne Fringe Trophy
  • 5 hours of mentoring style meetings with Kultour staff to assist in the development of a Kultour application for the touring of a body of work
  • $500 cash prize as encouragement donated by Kultour

To be eligible for this award you must submit an application by Friday 18th September which:

1.       Describes your work (150words)

2.       Describes how your work reflects Australia’s cultural diversity (150 words)

Melbourne Dramatists' New Writing Award, supported by the Melbourne Theatre Company

We are looking for the best new writing.

This award gets you

  • A sexy Melbourne Fringe Trophy
  • $250 cold hard cash
  • Mentorship with Melbourne Dramatists
  • Tickets to Opening Night performances from Melbourne Theatre Company for 2010

To be eligible for this award you must submit your writing (script of the show) to Melbourne Fringe by Friday the 18th of September 2009.

The Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development (Faculty of VCA and Music, University of Melbourne) Award for Indigenous Fringe Artist of the Year

We are looking for the Outstanding Indigenous artist across the Festival.

This Award gets you:

  • A sexy Melbourne Fringe Trophy
  • Faculty of the VCA and Music Short Course of the winner's choice
  • Tickets to chosen art form performance/exhibition/screening at the 2010 Faculty of the VCA and Music season of work

To be eligible for this award you must notify us if you or any of your artists are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent by Friday 18th September 2009.
