Fringe Furniture

Go for Baroque!

Fringe Furniture Contemporary furniture and interior design utilises a clever fusion of the past and reinvents elements to create the new. With an emerging trend against stark minimalism, exhibition participants showcase their own baroque ideals for the 2006 Fringe Furniture exhibition.

The Baroque artistic period which began in the 16th century, was stylistically complex, even contradictory. During this period of art, architecture and decorative arts, a desire to evoke emotional states by appealing to the senses, often in dramatic ways, underlies its manifestations.

Celebrate the opening of the 2006 Go for Baroque! Fringe Furniture exhibition at the launch on 28 September from 6pm - 9pm. With a sneak preview of "The Chinese Art of Placement" produced and performed by Stephen Najera and screenings by Digital Fringe.
