What is the Melbourne Fringe Festival?
The Melbourne Fringe Festival is an annual, open access, multi arts festival, which takes place over three weeks every spring in and around Melbourne.
When is the Melbourne Fringe Festival on?
In 2008, the Festival will occur from 24 September - 12 October.
I'm an Artist, how can I get involved?
In a nutshell, anyone can be in the Melbourne Fringe Festival - the Festival is an open access festival. To find out everything you need to do to be involved, check out the Taking Part and Artist Resources sections of this website. Registrations for the 2009 Festival will open in May.
How and where can I purchase tickets?
The Age 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival will officially launch in early September. Tickets will be available to purchase online at www.melbournefringe.com.au, over the phone or in person at our Information and Ticketing Centre in Federation Square. Tickets for shows at the Festival HUB in North Melbourne will also be available at Box Offices at these venues.
Are there any free events?
Yes! In 2008 there are 97 quality free events in the Festival program - that's one third of the program! In particular, head down to Federation Square any night of the Festival for a spectacular program of events, all free.
When does Melbourne Fringe recruit staff?
Melbourne Fringe occasionally advertises for core staffing roles/interns, however the majority of our recruitment occurs from June onwards, in preparation for the Festival in September. Opportunities appear on this website in our Jobs section and we also advertise on Arts Hub.
Does Melbourne Fringe need volunteers?
Yes! There are many volunteering opportunities with Melbourne Fringe, however most of these occur in the lead up to and during the Festival from August. To find out more about volunteering for us, check out the Volunteers section of this website.
