“Extremities” is a group-devised piece of theatre that brings together a number of scenes that focus on human beings in extreme situations. These scenarios create extreme emotional reactions in the characters. The show essentially looks at peak experiences ; they include the extremes of joy and love, through to fear and loathing.
The performers in “Extremities” are adult students from “Drama With A Difference” – one of Australia’s leading, independent drama schools. With a history that spans over twenty-years, the school is the launching pad of many successful actors. It welcomes aspiring actors, as well as recreational students.
Many of the actors in this production have performed in public in the past and are aspiring professional actors with some experience. Others are bracing the stage for the first time – putting themselves in front of a live audience, with enormous bravery; this being an action that ties in with the theme of the performance itself.
The actors have been guided and directed by seasoned, professional theatre practitioners.
The number of scenes means that there is sure to be something for everyone in this production. There is a mix of pre-scripted and devised work.
