HOMEMOTION talks about the conflict of being an immigrant that belongs to a minority, and that lives in a country that speaks a different language. The play creates a safe place to gather to break down the concept of Home and celebrate diversity, the meaning of belonging and culture.
Our creative resources start from our experience of being foreigners in this land and also belonging to a minority that is out of ‘normality’. We have interviewed several immigrants based in Melbourne about their idea of home to nurture and give shape to the whole play. This multi-layered performative experience is also supported by the text KASPAR of Peter Handke, where the audience is invited to witness how a person is cultured.
