PLEASE NOTE: The 2017 Melbourne Fringe Festival season of Nightmare has been cancelled, we apologise for any inconvenience.
Mixing the fun of the side-show with spooky surrealism, welcome to Such As They Are’s production of Nightmare – a 9 minute experience performed inside a horse float. Shepherded by a spine-chilling Usher, an intimate audience of eight are escorted up the ramp and into a nightmarish world where golden skeletons pursue giant runaway tongues, puppets magically emerge, sensory thrills strum on nerves and the audience are propelled towards an unforgettable climax.
Nominated for a 2015 Greenroom award, Nightmare is strange, surprising, fun and spooky.
For this Fringe we’ll be performing continuously between 7pm and 9pm with a new show starting every 12 minutes. Entry by donation at the door. This is a great way to kick your fringe into (or out of) gear.

Reviews for Such As They Are:
“... ..a fun, immersive, interactive and thought-provoking experience that embraced our collective neuroses around the human body, infection, sickness and survival.”
Megan Spencer, Punctum review
'Every now and again, there is a show that is so unexpected and unusual that it remains vividly with you for quite some time after seeing it. ... Transplant is a highly entertaining evening that ensures a full sensory experience for its audiences as they explore ideas of life and death and humanity.'
Myron My - Theatre Press
'This would have to be one of the weirdest shows I saw, a medical fairytale of sorts with puppets and performance and an incredible transformation.'
