NIGHT SONG is a chance to lie down and disappear into the dark. During this live performance by Melbourne pianist and composer Rose Alea, each audience member receives a bed and a view of the stars. The program will include original works – which are melancholy, intimate and cinematic – as well as works by neo-classical composers such as Max Richter and Nils Frahm.
NIGHT SONG is a new way of listening to music performed live, where you can bring your drink to a bed on the ground, close your eyes – even fall asleep – to the meditative and echoing sound of a grand piano in the hall of the Meat Market. This performance, enjoyed in near total darkness, encourages introspection, silence and rest – a break from the madness of the world outside.
