Radical Access Conversations
2025
Why are we so shit at access in Australia and what are we going to do about it?
Caroline Bowditch facilitates this rich discussion, joined by speakers Morwenna Collet, Wendy Martin and Fayen d'Evie. They discuss the key drivers that prevent and allow exceptional access to emerge, and grapple with how we can all be doing better on the access front.

Does access REALLY result in great art?
In this video, Jenny Sealey (Joint CEO/Artistic Director, Graeae Theatre Company) and Robert Softly Gale (Artistic Director, Birds of Paradise Theatre Company) share their experience of embedding access into the dramaturgy of performance, and discuss how it adds to or takes away from the creative and audience experience.

Who is making the most interesting AND accessible work in the world?
This conversation focuses on the Europe Beyond Access (EBA) international project that supports the creation of new works by Deaf and/or Disabled artists across Europe. EBA is the biggest transnational project in the world supporting Disabled and/or Deaf artists, breaking the glass ceilings of contemporary dance and theatre and becoming Europe’s next artistic leaders. In this video, Caroline speaks to EBA Project Director Ben Evans, and Diana Niepce and Sindri Runudde – two recently commissioned artists.

How do we tell them they're crap?
In this video, Professor Bree Hadley (Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, QUT), Michelle Ryan, (Artistic Director, Restless Dance Company) and Jo Verrent (Executive Producer, Unlimited, UK) bring their expertise to a conversation about genuine allyship, the importance of critical feedback to artists, artforms, and aesthetic development.
