A photo of a young man lying on his back. He is half submerged in a blue blow up pool, his white clothes are wet and semi-transparent. His hair is brown and curly and spreads out in rays from his head, floating on the surface of the shallow water. He has an enormous smile, like he's been caught in the photo mid belly-laugh.

A new work about transness, disability, and the ethics of IVF.

'No Seasons' is a new experimental work by Oliver Ayres ('I'm Ready To Talk Now' - Best Experimental, Change Maker Award) exploring gender, IVF, disability, and parenthood.

“When I was nineteen years old, I had my eggs frozen before I started taking hormones - and prior to my diagnosis with a rare and chronic immune condition. Almost ten years later, and what seemed like a hypothetical future is slowly becoming my reality - but what is my ethical responsibility in bringing children into this world? And if I choose not to use my eggs to have my own children, can I live with myself if I donate them to other families, knowing that one day they may search for their biological mother - and find their father instead.”

Each audience member will be asked to choose from three options before entering the theatre: ‘I am a parent/step-parent/guardian etc.’, ‘I am not, but I may be someday’ and ‘I am not and I never will be’.

Oliver is also a finalist for the 2025 Trans Visibility Awards in Creative Excellence presented by Transgender Victoria.

Praise for Oliver:
