The image shows a child sitting at a table adorned with a gold vase, a bowl of purple grapes, pearl jewellery and a book. They have long golden hair draped over their shoulders and they are wearing a dark green and gold sequin shirt with a green beaded necklace. Their eyes are covered with a black rectangle or censorship bar so that their identity is hidden.

Tired of adults being in charge? Welcome to THE CENSOR – where kids call the shots! 12+ years

Psst! Ever been told you can’t read this book, watch that movie, go on that website? Did adults say it was too scary? Or not appropriate? But you still want to do it?

Welcome to THE CENSOR - a show by kids, for you and your adults - where you get to decide what to do.

THE CENSOR invites audiences from 12-100 to a special island where the usual rules don't apply.

Here, the kids are in charge.

They make the decisions and are free from grown-up influence about what's good for them and what isn't.

Unexpected, unfiltered, uncensored.

Important note: While performers as young as 10 are part of THE CENSOR, the performance explores complex and sometimes confronting themes, so ticketing is limited to ages 12 and above.

Supported by ArtPlay and in collaboration with theatre-makers Vidya Rajan and Cassandra Fumi, a dynamic ensemble of young people aged 10-16 explore the censorship of their media consumption, how this affects who they are now and who they might be in the future.
