Diving into the anxiety-fuelled existence of the professional swing, The Understudy explores the quiet desperation and absurd hope that consumes the unrehearsed and underpaid. She’s the actor on call, ready to step in at any moment to cover any and all of the roles and save the show.

But the perpetual waiting can have dire consequences... What if putting everything on hold makes you question your identity? Lose your autonomy? To become an understudy to the REAL you?
