Leveraging Media Workshop: Getting Buzz for your Fringe Show

How do you get media to your Melbourne Fringe show? This workshop is about how independent shows can work with media to get coverage and how to use that coverage – even if it is just a call out on the socials – to support your show. The workshop discusses how media has changed, what information media want from you, how to identify writers and broadcasters who want to see your work, and how to use the momentum of a festival to get media attention. We will also look at how to deal with negative media. Come with ideas about what you would like from media (apart from 5 stars) and lists of who you read, watch or listen to. Please note: this workshop is limited to artists with a 2025 Melbourne Fringe show. Your Host: Anne-Marie Peard is an arts journalist who has written for a lot of publications over the last couple of decades, mentors emerging writers, and teaches journalism and writing.
